Joyce Meyer's Secular Song.. as heard by (me!) Sandra, tvgp

-remember how i projected/selected secular songs that represent our 3 favorite tv pastors

i had, "happy" by pharell williams for Joel Osteen

and then, "killing me softly" for Bishop T.D. Jakes

but then, for Joyce Meyer, I couldn't quite land on one..  and I've been **exercising patience..  -because i knew I'd know it once I heard it

and it was actually when i heard, "For once I have someone I know won't desert me.."

that I realized "that's her song!"   -because if you know her life story, it includes being emotionally abandoned/deserted by her mom, sexually abused by her father, and then, her 1st husband literally abandoned her several times  ( new mexico and oakland, are two places i think i remember her mentioning by name)

but God, and her current husband of 40+ years..    she knows wont desert her

and then when i read the lyrics in their entirety, i became certain..   just perfect!

so, Joyce Meyer's secular song is For Once in My Life by Stevie Wonder.

****

** and now, i've been inspired to write about..

well, to share this analogy:   when you work out, and lift weights, for example..   if the weight is light, you can lift it easily for several times.. but then, even if it is light, after so many repetitions, you will start to "feel" it  -and that is when you are growing; improving; getting stronger; -when you push through the reps you can feel in terms of resistance and struggle

and what i've come to appreciate, is that we have the same experience when it comes to exercising fruits of the spirit

so, if you are in the express lane, and no one is in front of you..  that's like lifting a light weight once (no resistance)

but if you are in a long line, and have to wait..  and then another obstacle comes along and you have to wait even longer

when you "feel" impatient, (resistant to waiting any longer) but push through and past it; that is when you are growing spiritually

and just like with the flesh, everything is easy if you are doing nothing;  and if you do start on purpose to exercise, it seems hard at first; and then as you STAY IN PRACTICE; things that were super hard in the beginning get much easier

and in the spirit, the same is true   -if you on purpose, begin to exercise and develop; to manifest the fruits of spirit in your life   -you recognize when you reach a point of resistance; and then push through; that is when you grow/improve spiritually

flesh and spirit  -they both need regular exercise

stay in practice.  and when you walk in love; you accomplish both simultaneously.    hallelujah & amen.

with love, for Too Short (todd anthony shaw!) from (me!) Sandra, tvgp

-Blow the Whistle

Lyrics “Christianized” by (me!) Sandra Harrison Kay, AKA: WriteousMom

Backstory:  we love this song!  If a live band starts to play this song at a dance club.. my sexy would immediately give up his place as the next person in line for our cocktails,  grab my hand, and we hit the dance floor

***

It is on my commercial free shuffled playlist for our workouts, so I hear it often; love to watch how my sexy lights up when it comes on..

But me, I’m not so comfortable with the lyrics..   and, so..  I have been divinely inspired to, with love, truth & humor, Christianize them.   And.. in prayer, I said to Jesus with a smile, I said,

-I want it so that even Too Short himself would be moved & get to laughing “Thank You Jesus!”   amen.

***   if i had the means/resources i would have a music video made, but i can write now.. do this:

[video images of (me!) typing blog posts/excerpts from posts/stats]

I go on and on

Can’t understand how I write so long

I must have super-powers

Write 40+ years and 10,000 hours

Get a calculator, do the math

Wrote 5000 posts to help you save your ass

       [me/sexy dancing; post c/ups’; songs/laughter]

And! For the last three hundred months

I’ve made thousands of posts with (me!) on the front  -fist bump

Where you get your beats?

I heard ninety three people say a Christian like (me!)

Two singers and ten comedians

And I’m still gon’ post it every time you see (me!) in

Hmm, What’s a different word?

[failing to reach area in lower mid back to scratch it/grab wooden back scratcher/reach successfully]

Itch

Why my arm gotta be too short

Itch!

You know you can’t play on my court

Can’t hang with my Jesus posts

Pray on the porch

Blow The Whistle x4

[video images of speeches/JM, TDJakes, JO, Southgate YB, BA Degree, Bible, in prayer]

Where you get that from?

Grab the mic, post one, let me say it blunt:

Joyce Meyer, TD Jakes & that Joel Osteen

Keep preachin’ that bible til’ you too-B-lieve

President, that’s Southgate Baby

B.A.  -that’s Hayward Baby

Pit to Palace -that’s Jesus Baby

Ain’t nothin’ but prayer these days -SHE

                     [c/u gun to head; c/u paralyzed w/fear; c/u praying]

My fragile mind got locked up

Cocked gun to my head, that fa-luck't me up

Change my luck, yes,  -I had to pray

Jesus showed up  & he lit the way

[bible, prayer, victory stance, dance club, Hayward pix, fake id]

Do you really wanna be like (me!)?

Conquer the world -know vic-tor-Y

Hayward girl, now VIP

Danced in the clubs with a fake ID

Blow The Whistle x4

                  [swish numb ritual]

My mind was gone

My brain was blazed

I was Terrorized for countless days

Swishin’ junk

went numb for real

Couldn’t stop.. just kept rollin’ down hill

Swish & spit, get more, sit back

Stay numb as you can  -you can’t handle all that

Man, I’ve been healed so long

Time to let the whole world hear my song

                     [books, mags, journals, website(s), appearances]

Like (me!) my words get around

Leave the country, come back and hit the town

I’m in mags, and books, and time will tell

On walls, on stage, saw Dave Chappelle, about this scratch; itch!

Learned it from (me!)

At least fifty million dollars

-should be comin’ to (me!)

                                    [remember them.org monument in Oakland]

But I’m pray-z and you wanna be like (me!)

Remember Them in Oakland and then ya get type-ing

Blow it!

Blow your whistle..

“itch!”

All my life baby

Blog post 4,915

Y’all can’t read all that…

and after 10+ years i saw things differently (me!) sandra, tvgp

 the prerequisite reading:

Jon Stewart Meet Taryn Kay

and then, prerequisite driving:

from San Jose to San Leandro on 880

from San Leandro to Livermore on 580

from Livermore to San Jose on 680

from Half Moon Bay to San Jose on 92 and then...   lovely, lovely, spacious, 280 with rolling hills on either side for as far as the eye can see.

***

i grew up on Peterman in Hayward, with 880 in my backyard..  it is narrow, squishy, crowded, soundwalls, heavy traffic, industrial

880/AKA "the Nimitz"   and i recently watched a movie with the namesake, Admiral Nimitz, but that would be too much of a digression..

580 seemed such an improvement over 880 for space and view

680 seemed such an improvement over even 580 for space and rolling hills view.. in the spring!  breathtaking glorious green  -but quite laden with traffic

280!  i did not even know such a spacious highway existed in California!  and to see, along the drive, not sound walls, or industry, or graffiti or businesses, or development of any kind, but just..

nature. hills, trees, cows, birds

i could hardly believe my eyes..  and i found myself silently whispering to God.. i hope they leave this area just the way it is!  and NEVER develop any buildings on it...  amen Jesus!

and then i flashed back on the pre-requisite reading   -the 'apartments on the freeway' skit my daughter kicked into when we watched the city council meeting..   how that is one of my all time proud mom moments..  how hard she made me laugh..   to learn how quick her mind operated/understood things..

and at that time, the year 2011, the only way i received the information, was to see it as an ugly

superiority, bigotry, biased, elitist attitude against people living in apartments!  and i have myself lived in a variety of different apartment complexes

i did not at the time appreciate  -at all-  whatsoever, the value on the eye, and soul and spirit, of being surrounded in undeveloped   -natural, beautiful landscapes.  untouched by cement, buildings/businesses, complexes, cell towers

now, since that time.. there are in fact, many apartments, AKA: high density housing,  which can be easily seen from 580 in Pleasanton   -especially between Stoneridge and Sunol; and to my knowledge, no one has been injured,  traumatized or hospitalized from the experience

but for the record..  i do now also appreciate and understand the value of undeveloped landscapes; nature, and we need to make room for both.   And I am not bothered by the addition of apartments viewable along 580 in Pleasanton; at all.

And at the same time.. each time we drive on 280 toward or returning from Half Moon Bay

"Dear Jesus...  I pray we can preserve what we have here...   forever!  It is so beautiful..   amen."

***

and we need to make room, space, and anticipate even..   people's ability to change.

currently in our culture, it is practically a trend, to search through decades worth of what a given person has said, thoughts, shared..

and hold them accountable  -punish them even, for things thought/said, years and years ago.

none of us, when we are in jr. high, or 'middle' school, should be held accountable or punished or fired or publicly shamed for things we said or did in elementary school

none of us, when we are in high school,  should be held accountable or punished or fired or publicly shamed for things we said or did in middle school;

none of us, when we are in college,  should be held accountable or punished or fired or publicly shamed for things we said or did in high school;

none of us, when we are launched into the working world, with families, raising children, etc.,  should be held accountable or punished or fired or publicly shamed for things we said or did in college

-save of course, illegal, violent, arrest-worthy crimes..

but for the most part..   we need to make room for people to EVOLVE..   each year of life experience, exposure to more people, circumstances, blessings, curses, views, perspectives, movies, books, conversations...

each year we LEARN and GROW and EVOLVE..     this is a PROCESS

we do not show up on the planet fully formed, open minded, understanding, compassionate, all knowing, flexible, faultless, perfect, politically correct, mature, sound, wise, humble, powerful, certain, fearless, flawless

it takes...

DECADES

and if i may speak here AGAIN about fruits of the spirit

among them..   'kindness, gentleness'

so if someone HAS many years ago, said something, or done something, now described on some movie ratings as  'culturally outdated'

-the OPPOSITE of fruits of the spirit is what seems popular now, to respond in very mean & harsh ways; extreme

but with kindness, gentleness..  we can educate and help people evolve.

and yes, there are cases where people get STUCK..  and you can see an immature, uneducated, unevolved,  narrow minded thing a person said/did   -and see no growth

over 5, 6 decades they have not changed, or even considered a new or different perspective

they are without self assessment skills and lack personal growth motivation

but look for patterns not isolated events; see things in context of their time & culture;  make room for people to evolve..

-one of the many attributes of our great nation and constitution is freedom of speech; and if we punish, shame, humiliate, fire any/all speech which does not agree with our own;  we do not have freedom of speech..

freedom of speech is as important to the citizens of the United States of America as wisdom is described in the Bible to followers of Jesus Christ.

suggested reading:  all scripture describing the value of wisdom

more later..    hallelujah & amen!

Koi Fish Bliss summer 2020 august/september yard art by (sexy! & tops!) #bliss @writeousmom

***

An invitation

Come; dip your imagination into our peaceful pond

the oasis blue water invites you

hydrate in the luck, love, friendship and blessings

bestowed on and through the beauty of koi

they’ve traveled across the world, through time

evolving

from common carp caught for food in China and Japan,

to the most popular ornamental fresh water fish all around the globe

-who first recognized the mesmerizing value on humans?

-who inspired the rice farmer to breed them

to show off their scales of many colors?

-who first experienced a noticeable peace and calm as they looked a’pond them…  these bright and friendly, unique-color-patterned, shiny swimming jewels

gliding effortlessly to lifes momentum

under and around a fluid world adorned with lilly pads & water lillies

singing silently, in harmony with every other mutually kind creature big and small.

always sharing the sky with each other and with you  -write now.

Do you already know?

your imagination is as hospitable to creativity as pond water is to your hand;

immediately making room, receiving.   A fluid place where we should let common sink; let unique and beautiful swim

mesmerizing, nourishing

feeding a place in us that carp on a plate cannot

What is it about merely observing living things; color, beauty, water

 - that so nourishes our souls?

I cannot specifically explain, but

Come; dip your imagination into our peaceful friendly koi pond; and you too will understand.

The Heart Seen -way cool contribution... by (squidmann! & spike!)

per email:  Here’s a unique one. I caught this pelican just as he hit the water. And then I saw he was shaped like a heart!

"Thank You!"  -just fantastic!   and we noticed a body of water near barbara's fish trap that seem to be a haven for a multitude of pelicans.   -very fun to watch.    -great shot!

***

and a 'noteworthy' heart seen happened recently in my new 'studio 213' room,   where i was using a post-it note pad as a coaster for my mimosa,   "cheers!"

"The Perc Ponds Are Full! The Perc Ponds Are Full!" (sexy! & tops!) #NOTonNOBLE #percponds

public "thank you!" here to our awesome neighbor eric for recommending we include in our walk, the perc pond area @ penitencia creek

we heeded his advice, and have included it in our walk every time.   -and, what a true blessing it is!  the amount of wild life we get to see and/or encounter:  turtles, fish, frogs, ducks, herons, egrets, turkey vultures, dragonflies, rabbits   -no counting how many people we've met, talked to,  -how many dogs.. their proud owners..
and i can say with such loving, fond confidence, what i shared with a young man fishing there recently

"if my brother had grown up in this area..   he would have lived here!"   -and by that, of course i don't mean, as in, in a house/residence lived here
i mean of course, that every chance he could  -he would have been hanging out write here.   i literally think of him every single time we walk through this area..   his love for wildlife, fishing, animals, nature in general..

as it was, growing up in hayward, california.   he gravitated to the ponds at weeks park, which always seem to have poly wogs..   and lake chabot, and coyote creek for fishing and just exploring nature..  catching lizards...  saving birds..

he was born with these instincts; and as his younger by 3 years, little sister..  i can testify for myself; that i wasn't born with those instincts.  i was not, naturally, on my own, pulled toward those experiences.  it is only because he invited me, or included me,   -/or was forced to babysit me...    that i became the beneficiary of enjoying natures little creatures, and variety of exposures to wildlife.

and so, during our walks for the past several months, the perc ponds were actually dry.   -two of them anyway..   and it was still a pretty walk, but!  since they have re-filled them!  WOW! to how much beauty it adds; and wildlife it attracts.     -what fun it is, to look at a collection of algae,

and then, you realize a frog is camouflaged on top of a section..

and then, your eye will start to see 2, 3, 5, 9 frogs; which were camouflaged only seconds ago..

your eye seems to adjust in a way similar to how it adjusts to darkness

and, the same with turtles..

at a glance.. none.  then one..  then you start to see them everywhere!

and tiny fish under the water..

there is so much real life in every direction:  under water,

on the ground, among the trees, in the sky..

and we recently brought a little bread to share with the ducks

let me tell you,

you know how pavlov's dog was conditioned by the bell

-these ducks have been equally conditioned by plastic grocery store bags

we did not even need to remove bread from the bag itself

the sight/sound of a plastic bag, and dozens of ducks started waddling toward us all at once.

most precious thing ever!

we have video, which for exclusively technical reasons, i am unable to share, but personally treasure.

and it is our nature, to want each and every duck to get some bread

and you can see, how some ducks are faster..  more aggressive

so unless you, with intention, spread the wealth, so to speak

there would be the have-a-lots, and the -have-nothins

so we work to make sure each duck gets a portion.

and there are some ducks, who seems to have come up with a strategy

and they will jump in the water vs. waddle on land, because they've learned this is a successful angle for humans to toss bread.

and i always pause internally a bit to admire the perpetually properly groomed nature of ducks.

some animals coats tend to get too long, requiring cutting..

or messy, or dirty, or matted, or tangled.. or there are bald spots, or over-thick spots..

but every duck looks freshly, perfectly, 100% groomed at all times.

what more could be done?

every feather clean, perfect size, structure, color, length   -covering their bodies so beautifully

and they dont require monthly maintenance to keep it that way; it just stays perfect.

anyway..

we also enjoyed recently, this tree which held in its upward bare branches
one white egret
and about a dozen black turkey vultures

and on another occasion..   on the topic of turkey vultures..

we were walking on a path where there were several, and one of them, opened up its wings to full span, and it looked to me very much like a warning

do not come closer

and i personally had no issue with honoring the warning

but my sexy did keep walking toward them

and eventually, the one warning us, flew away

and then the rest of them flew away too.

they look so intimidating, and potentially aggressive, but they flee from humans when it comes to down to it.

and,

we just love this area so much, this nature walk

something different to marvel at each and every time we walk through

and always people to visit

'the regulars'   many of which we know by name now,

and often brand new..

***

but, it stood out to me, recently, in a light-hearted, fun way..

how some of the 'regulars' of the perc pond area @ penitencia creek

they've been enjoying this area for years,

it's been their sacred, unpopulated, natural,  beautiful, peaceful,

well kept secret

and since, shelter in place, covid concerns,

and more people at home, not working,

more people walking, hiking, biking for the first time

this has resulted in more people than in years past

making their way through the perc pond park..

my personal response is "hallelujah! & amen!"

the more people enjoying God's landscape the better..

you don't want to miss out!

but for long-timers..

they are a little put out by more people traffic

and truth is,

there is a population tipping point for any area

and how wonderful, if you don't reach it.

amen.
