Public "Thank You!" to (alex!) from (me!) sandra, tvgp

k, so i showed a picture of the tree from niles district park in fremont to 3 different very knowledgeable staff/administrators at alden lane nursery.    -not one knew it write away, the name of this fat trunk tree

but, jim "thank you!"   -he gave it go..   did some research...

maybe a ficus nerifolia (?)...

and then alex handed me some paper work which had the name and some pictures, so..

my winner is alex!    25,000 imaginary points for helping me identify the

common name:   Queensland Bottle Tree,

and per Jim later...   AKA:  Australian Bottle Tree

and, David..    i think he's still researching...     got side-tracked by a customer...

but, i just love knowing the common name..     the botanical is:   brachychiton rupestris

and, i sure do hope one day, trees in public parks will all wear common name tags.    wouldnt that be fun.

and we picnicked under the shade of a california pepper tree.

just one; and then a million mimosa trees -for (me!) sandra, tvgp

so CH = cerebral hyperlink.    have i abbreviated how...   when our conscious becomes aware of something for the first time?  and then...

because everyone has a gazillion of these experiences within their life time..

CAMF?   consciously aware moving forward...

i dont know, i'll keep working on it, feel free to send suggestions..  but,

sexy & i were on a walk, i stopped to awe over this tree...    how gorgeous! the way these bright pink to white,  slight ambre (?) pom-pom like, flowers sit write on top of these dark, pretty leaves..

then i started to consider.. as it had been suggested here and there..    ' a tree id app! '

and, i was so proud of myself..  not having the aid of my children to help me add an app on my phone

how cool it would be, to just take a picture of the tree you want to learn more about, and... "!"

/hat off here to e.o. wilson..

anyway,

so, that's what i wanted.. to take a picture of the tree..  upload it to the app, and then get to know the name of the tree..

but what happened, is that i looked for an app, thought i did such a great job, installing..  etc.

but then inadvertently ended up with a gazillion thumbnail pictures of every tree in san jose on my phone, and would still have to be able to id one to find one; know what i mean..

so  -thank you here to my son, who lickity-split, uninstalled the app..

and instead, (what i should have done in the first place) i showed a picture and asked nancy at alden lane nursery, and she knew write away..

"i think that's a mimosa tree..."

and sure enough, i learned it is also called a silk tree..  but anyway..

i saw my very first mimosa tree in front of noble elementary school parking lot the summer of 2020. and what a beauty.

but that's not true.

what is true is that I NOTICED (became aware of) a mimosa tree for the first time in front of noble elementary school parking lot the summer of 2020.. ive seen them a gazillion times, over 50+ years without ever noticing them.

but now..

they are throughout our neighborhood here, and that neighborhood over there.

and they are up and down a street i lived on in pleasanton many years; never noticed...

but now,

i see them everywhere.   and when they are in bloom...    pretty as it gets.

In Jesus Name,   "mimosa cheers! & amen"

flower power for (me!) sandra, tvgp

k, so we tried, for the first (and now, only) time to grow our own
tomatoes, potatoes, pepper

there is not even a picture of the potato failure..  and we threw out the pepper, replanted a climbing rose in that pot, and donated both tomato containers to our beloved neighbor jean

the same way people will self determine/describe themselves as 'bakers' or 'cooks'   /with some being both..

there are vegetable growers, and flower growers..  and i am most definitely all about flowers.. and had little interest beyond an initial curiosity having never tried growing vegetables..    when it comes to return on investment of time/energy, etc.      i find flowers yield a consistently, high return

just look at these...

in my heaven..   there are not pearly gates, gold..  jewels..

who cares

just place me back in the garden, where it all began...

return to the scene of great times! half moon bay (sexy! & tops!) #half moon bay @writeousmom

our first time, a picnic on the beach behind barbara's fish trap; second time, way fun hike, delicious bday lunch w/san bruno & santa maria; and this most recent time -we brought the bikes.   -high charm bike ride along a path from pillar point air force station to....

see the surfers, the pelicans, the ocean waves, ships & boats, lots of families, couples, individuals
and all along the path, enough wildflowers to make summer look like spring, and the very charmingly staggered wood rail garden fence which borders the path on one side  -plus, sweet wood camp and too many of natures sculpted trees to take in on one visit; but beauty and personality everywhere you look.

...to the corner of kelly & balboa..  and back.

and now,

eventually..  when we actually pre-plan..   we are gonna have to try and meet up with squidmann & spike!

-how many of his blog posts & pictures   -and heart seen contributions come from and/or are inspired directly by half moon bay!

speaking of:

they sent this heart seen contribution via email 7/13:    i heart the beach

"Thank You!"  it is a great photograph  -fascinating to look at the natural way the rocks are sprinkled about and the natural design patterns in the sand  -and then that sweet heart shaped rock, standing out so bright and true.  love it!

and!

did i already mention...  how i love the drive..   (me!)?   -but 280 is an actually lovely highway  -so spacious, driver friendly, and nice views of landscapes, hills, trees on either side

and 92 is not so bad..   and speaking of:

here's a fun, cherished CH from our drive to half moon bay:

you know by now how they work  -write.  CH  cerebral hyperlinks:
because on our drive home, a car sped by us..   robert said something like, 'driving like a bat out of hell' and then that got us to thinking about a song by that name..  and then meatloaf..  and then next thing you know we are listening to paradise by the dashboard lights..

we all have bouncy pin-ball brains unless we train them.

how 'bout we marry you! by (me!) sandra, tvgp

easy pay

easy review!

how 'bout we marry you!

***

Yes!  it is already probably in the works, but i haven't experienced it yet.  but our last few times at restaurants, we have enjoyed the convenient mobile/table kiosk devices when it comes time to pay the bill.   -and they make selecting the tip amount quick/easy, press of a button, and insert your card, and..

done!

only...

we are not  -really-  done.    the thing is, also during our last several restaurant visits, our servers have gone out of their way   -inspired by management i'm sure

to request a positive yelp review.

and we both have hearts to want to give a positive review  -but, also

i don't think our dining experience should end with a homework assignment, and it does feel like an annoying homework assignment, even though our review is positive

and it's not just restaurants, but almost every service oriented position..

"can you please give us a positive review on yelp..."

-and  1.  i feel so terrible for the employees required by management to require from their customers positive yelp reviews;   -that's just an awkward thing..    i'm sure they'd much rather not...

2.  we, as customers, don't want the homework assignment,   but nor do we want to let our great servers down..

and

3.    -certainly if restaurants can provide this quick table kiosk/mobile pay  -press of a button, done, go!  method for accepting payment

YOU CAN DO THE SAME THING WITH REVIEWS!!

-same kiosk..  same mobile pay convenience..   press a button for tip amount and

one button for the you are amazing, we love you! review.   -all at the same place, same time..

-now you are truly done

you do not leave with the weight of an obligation or responsibility...

that would make for a superior dining experience.

hallelujah! & amen!

Moss Landing 2020 (sexy! & tops!) #IWA #mosslanding @writeousmom

...return to the scene of great times!..."

way delicious fish n' chips   -hot, fresh, and eaten within view of the ocean.  @ phil's fish market

and moss landing is extra special, in that, it is the first place we ever created what we now call our 'indigenous word art'     -and this very first time, we spelled our terms of endearment for each other  sexy & tops, but from that place forward, we always spell the name of the place we are visiting/hiking/biking, etc.     -so it was fun to return here, and spell the name of the place/location..  and hold the picture of our first time visiting there.           -awesome day   "thank you!
