Public "Thank You!!" to Jerry Heinrichs for Alaska & Hawaii state flowers

for some time now, jerry has created & contributed his gorgeous art work to complement our yard art

-from nfl super bowl helmets, to easter art, to st patricks..    and every single time he just blows us away with how amazing!    we love everything he does..   as do our neighbors and the passersby

and we share the same artistic experiences, this utter joy/fun in the process..

and just like we clear the yard after a time, and start all over..   new empty canvas..

he does the same with these boards he created..   paints over his design, and..

we all love an empty canvas and opportunity to create anew...     "Thank You!" Jerry,   -awesome as always

love, robert & sandra

3rd layer of yard art in progress...

so,  we've had the american flag up,  -and it worked out that it was our yard art during memorial day, may 27th, flag day, june 14th and 4th of july   -but rather than replace it, we wanted to add two more layers, so,  on top of the flag,    -the outline of the united states; hand-embossed/painted; and then the final layer, which is a mixed media created state flower to sit inside the outline for its given state

fun and educational..      #bliss    #bliss  #bliss        and our new most favorite yard art..   with contributions from our grandsons   "Thank You!"  Love you,   xoxo

magnolias coming up next....      LOVE.     amen.

#vellumdays august 2024 in progress...

not FACT or FICTION.. FACT or OPINION by (me!) ~topps

must start by sharing:  the same way we all have a mechanism inside us that allows us to understand/know whether we feel obligated or inspired..

Christians have a mechanism inside them that allow them to understand/know when they are divinely requested to do something vs. just want to do something

i.e., i wanted to revisit the story i just posted about the gmail and grocery bag fees; it is funny to me..  a joy to write about and re-read about..

what i'm posting write now:   not so much because i want to.   my interpretation is that i'm responding to a request..    'obeying' if you will.   i prefer the word honor; honoring what's been placed on my heart

oh!  i can always hear secular people..   "She thinks God wants her to write about...."

well guess what

that's write.   and it goes like this:    first time i saw this car, i pointed to it; sent a picture to my son, a true car enthusiast

and my guess was that this car was a one-of-kind, custom designed, truly unique automobile, the likes of which i have never seen before; and thought it had a military look to it..

when we saw it again, in the home depot parking lot..   i thought it was the same car/driver when we saw it on piedmont

-and true, that when we saw it again, in pleasanton,  -i thought it was the same car/driver from san jose, who just happen to also be in pleasanton the same day we were..

it does stand out,  this car...

eventually...    /which is my default processing speed in a nut shell

but eventually, i learn through a conversation here, and a conversation there..  observation here, observation there

like, oh!  it's a tesla...   they call it a truck..   it's not one custom designed car..  there are many of them, and in different colors..

****

fast-forward to our recent visit to carmel, where in the downtown area there is one of these vehicles parked

and as we were walking near it, a lady came up to us, and i wont use her actual dropping F bomb words, but essentially, she said,

"This is the ugliest MFin car ever made..."    and i said,

i said with a smile,

i said, "it's not your taste."

and she shared her opinion like it was a fact, several times,

and i repeated myself too, each time, "you mean, it's not your taste.."

"UGLY.. UGLIEST..."

"so, it's not YOUR taste...."

we did end up talking about other things..  and she shared about being from the area, and recommended the restaurant we ended up enjoying.. porta bella  -dog friendly; wonderful,

but also, while we were still there talking, the driver and (family/friends?) came up to the car, and got in

and i looked at her, and said,

it is THEIR taste though...

PART II

just in case i've left anyone confused about fact vs opinion..

Christy's Donuts, on the corner of N. Capitol & Berryessa has THE BEST DONUTS IN ALL OF SAN JOSE!!     -fact.

hallelujah & amen.

THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS -monthly fees for gmail...

and so, my 'primary' emails are like, 89, and my entire total, 200-something..   down from THOUSANDS.  having had email/gmail FREE for the entire time i've ever used it; "Thank You!" by the way

well, i'm highly reluctant to pay anything..  i am currently highly resentful.   extra upset now with any junk, marketing emails, any and all uninvited emails of any kind that are taking up space, and which i have to personally delete; burden on me

vs. prevent from coming in in the first place  [the way it obviously should be]

AND! 'unsubscibe' buttons ive learned are mostly just for looks...  to get to actually unsubscribe would take way more time on the phone and writing letters than i have time or energy for

so, delete.. delete..  hit unsubscribe [never subscribed in the first place]  -jokes on us...  -write.

***

long blog post made short..    reminded me CH = to when, after getting grocery bags my entire life for free...

they started charging an outrageous per bag fee.  i did not take well to that fee either.

fun and very true stories from the archives; 2013

warning, threats, squeeze

i have already proactively 'permanently' deleted THOUSANDS!  my incoming email are under 100..

my totals in the 300's...         i clean up space on a regular basis, but the squeeze keeps getting tighter; and the threats/warning never stop

i think i'm about to learn what life is like without emails; that's what i think..

amen.

Happy 19 YEARS blogging anniversary to (me!) sandra, writeousmom.com, ~topps

What church do you go to? -Robert & Sandra

we have been asked this question many times over several years and our answer has been, 'we dont go -to- a church, we watch church TV, 7 days a week, 365..'

and that remains true.  we do watch church tv every morning.   i have mentioned countless times, that i am a student of joyce meyers for life..   love her!    and, more recently we began watching/listening to charles stanley with much more consistency  -love him too! his teaching style..  the background for robert's workouts, and the background for my domestic/creative projects.

and we watch other tv pastors, here and there, but these two are our current mainstays

what's new, is that we are now occasionally attending an actual, brick n mortar, church

the church where robert used to be a youth leader; and the church his family attended while raising their son and daughter

and we've been once, a few years back, for easter..   but not since really.

now, -as occasion allows, we attend their 10:30am service, and it is a joy to watch robert re-connect with church friend-like-family members he hasnt seen in years..

if feels write for us at this time..    we both really like it there.   -and we've planned it so that, after sunday service, we are going to try restaurants we've never been to before for lunch...   get us out exploring..

and! of course I LOVE that on the church campus of park victoria..   a wonderful art gallery!  each artist can have up to 3 pieces in the gallery at a time; and they rotate art every 6 to 8 weeks, i believe it is, and when we did visit in length 2 or 3 sundays ago..     magnificent!  -a wonderful variety of art styles, types, methods, moods, textures..    and perfectly curated.  we learned also, and appreciate that they do not sell art out of dove gallery, -rather, you can contact the artist directly if you are interested in purchasing.

as you know, our walls are quite full...    we are not in the market for wall art, no matter how beautiful

but i do love looking,    -in the same way i might adore someone's garden as im walking by..

isnt that beautiful..       or, intriguing,   arent those colors beautiful together..   or wow to that texture..   look how they captured the light...   etc.

God has placed creative gifts inside countless people..   and i delight in seeing that these artists are not letting their gifts go to waste.     the joy of discovering your gifts!  the joy of developing them...

selah!  hallelujah & amen

p.s.  delighted to learn that there is a riding lawn mower robert's mom had donated to the church many years ago   -it got tucked away, when it didnt work proper, and collected some dust..  and, safe to say was on its way out

thank sharon here, she reached out to church member (name?)  good w/fixing things, and turns out

the riding lawn mower was rescued and restored and is still going strong.     -"thank you!" prayer-

what a wonderful thing to get to learn...   smiles from heaven.

in Jesus praiseworthy, loving name...   amen!
