People always make fun of me because I highlight (with a big, chunky, yellow highlighter!) every single book I read--fiction, non-fiction, for the show or just for my pleasure. I highlight passages that make me think, that I love, that I want to remember. I think every writer should read with a pen.
Original post 04/01/2009. And was just thinkin' yesterday about how I hardly use my once beloved kindle... I need to read with a pen.. I can't acclimate to e-highlighting/using the cursor.. Now, if my kindle came with a stylus... And I could still write, underline, draw hearts, smiling faces, etc.. Like how you electronically sign your name to receive a package... That would work! /this has been YET ANOTHER free business consultation... And you're welcome.

nice comparison :) I HATE when I have a great passage but no way to make note of it!
mbh: me too! -just the other day, all comfortable, snuggled in under a blanket on a big, cushy chair
great book in my hand
had to GET UP! out of my utter perfect, cozy position to go get a damn pen because
can't read without one. it's just too painful
every book should just come with a pen, don't you think...
love, ~s.

miracle mom: me too! i agree!
-and i love books for this reason.. you can mark 'em all up
very difficult to do that in verbal conversation.. catch the words/slow them down/highlight them/re-listen
with podcasts yes; on videotaped/recorded tv programs yes.. but over coffee with a friend and no tape recorder..
the words disappear too quickly into the air don't you think?
and p.s.
two thank you's:
after watching mark curtis on your in a word show, i contacted him with a request to speak/share during my must love blogs class
he said yes!
and to introduce him, i'm reading the blog you wrote on your tv30inaword.blogspot. -and included a copy in each folder
yields another great example of how blogs can be used professionally/humanitarian~ally at the same time
so THANK YOU! again,
love, ~s.
You are very welcome! And thank YOU for including my blog post in your packet! And for bringing attention to In a Word.
You will love Mark--he is a sweetheart!
Love,
Kathy
