original post 04/08/2009

one of the greatest novels i've ever read is curious incident of the dog in the night time

and on my list of authors i hope to meet in person: -and for great testimony re: what happens if a piece of your work becomes popular/successful: -and for beautiful art: -and for creative inspiration: and keeping me in complete awe:

How cool to read about Marks's experiences with fame and his need to stay a writer. Even now, it's difficult for me to make time for more creative writing. I find my mind isn't where I want it to be. Usually, when I get this way, it's time to read poetry. So that is what I shall do shortly.

You will be pleased to know you got me off my buttocks to start a new painting. I've been wanting to do this for weeks but it's weird. I want to paint but since I'm never satisfied with it (I am untutored, have little ability and almost no patience), I end up putting it off. I have a couple of final products that I moderately like, but the others...yech.

Maybe once I know what I want to paint, I will go back to it. Right now, I'm happy to have painted a background!

kmg/bbf: it's very smart how you handle your time/mood/inspiration shifts..

i've found it works, what you say,

"..when i get this way, it's time to ready poetry.."

not to try and push/force, but rather move/honor/return..

YES! i'm very pleased you are working on a new painting..

do post pictures of your progress bbf

every great foreground, revels in a great background

love, ~s.
