Excerpt from my talk at the VR1 foundation vocabulary & essay bee:
"...my favorite poet, Dr Maya Angelou..she says that words are things. Words are things... They enter into the furniture, your hair, your clothes..
I have come to believe that words are seeds. -they get planted in our hearts and minds.. And our culture is the garden.. A direct result of the words we plant and water and nurture..
As you grow your vocabulary.. I would encourage you to use words that spread love, that spread hope, -so that you may be a voice of positive change.."
