On the other hand.. As I just recently saw an advertisement for a gun show scheduled at our local fairgrounds, it got me to thinking about this painful truth: guns don't kill people, people kill people. Same thing rings true.. The Gun itself does not kill, but it sure does reveal when it has been in the hands of an evil or ignorant or mentally ill, or spiritually void person..sure does reveal whether it's been in the wrong hands; used as a weapon to threaten, control, or kill. Write. and here is what no one can argue: the more guns available, and -the more convenient- we make, and allow access to guns, the higher the number of crimes and victims. period. -so, social media today, is -very convenient- and as a result we have a higher number of crimes and victims. It brings me back once again to what I believe is the greatest concern of our current time: technology out evolving humans; dramatically! We are putting greater and greater capabilities in the hands of younger and younger people. And when I say young, I mean both chronologically and spiritually. Let's look for just a moment at the opposites of the fruits of the spirit: love/hate; peace/Preoccupation; joy/misery; patience/short tempered; kindness/mean spiritedness; goodness/evil; gentleness/harshness; faithfulness/betrayal and self-control/impulsive. I would add on for current times: aware/ignorant; conscious/unconscious; -in regard to how easily a person can be manipulated by others, mass media, or their own emotions and negative thoughts.. It all factors in. Part of the mess we're in is a direct result of people learning how to use computers, social media.. But not how to develop the fruits of the spirit.. People getting 'academic' training, career training.. But little to no, -spiritual training.
