If we too move to Idaho... #haiku

i will gather people, young and old, and i will take them on haiku hikes.   -black bay park.   we will marvel at all of God's gorgeous landscape, trees, sky, wild flowers, the lake, rocks...

we will learn together about each...   about everything our eyes and hands land on.   and i will encourage the best haikus out of people who have never even heard the word; who have never even imagined in a million years that they would read a poem, let alone author one..

and for a bit there, i was saying to friends and family, "if we moved to Idaho I would immediately become a naturalist and lead hikes..."

and then i was looking up the word -naturalist..   doing a little reading..   because, Lord only knows how many words I employ incorrectly..   connotation; denotation..   exaggeration...

but the name 'darwin' kept coming up..       really?  one of the world's best and most famous 'naturalists'

-to me the word naturalist is synonymous with Christian practically..   every living thing evidence of and glorifying God's name..

something inside me always recoils when i hear his name..     perhaps unjustifiably; i don't know..

i know i am not a fan whatsoever of that icon depicting the so called 'evolution' of man.

-and sometimes we hold on to one thing so tight with both hands that we don't even know what would happen if we set it down and looked closer at it..

i believe..

i believe if i were to read his work..    point out what i have learned from my life experiences, and layer them together

well, i do believe I feel him smiling and winking at me write now, this very moment  -from heaven.

***

it is not either/or;  it is and.                  /where have i heard that before? i say with a big, tired smile..

now i lay us down to sleep; i pray the Lord our souls you'll keep

and when we wake from this nights rest; i pray you'll help us be our best

in Jesus name,   -amen.
