GREAT JOY! of a re-read! -even better years later... for (me!) ~topps

let me open by saying, you really have not read your best fiction until you click online, and read the list of heroic accomplishments government incumbents take credit for..

that aside,   i started out 2024 with two mentions:  1.  don't make new year's resolutions; instead,  -consider everything that brought you any kind of joy the year before..  and do it again!  encore!  repeat!

and 2.  recently mentioned how glorious it is to  -read a book-    uninterrupted. no commercials.  and how superior to reading online where you must chronically click out of ads to keep reading..

so, following my own wise advice..  this book brought me GREAT JOY the first time i read it, some many years ago..     and just finished re-reading it the past couple days.    -my love has grown..

i love christopher.  i know christopher.  i am some unknown % of christopher.  i have met many people who are % christopher.    i understand christopher.

i love the story itself.  i love the pace at which the characters are introduced; how they are introduced and how they inter-relate.   i love how it opens..    everything in the middle...   and the very beautiful, tender ending.

now;  -confessions:  i don't remember shedding any tears when i read it several many years ago.  but i did get a little choked up this time.    and i don't remember catching any errors when i read it the first time,

but, this time..   and i trust many readers have already brought it to the attention of the author (that's what close readers/fans like to do to show off how closely they've read and paid attention..  write)

but..    how i can suggest, without giving it away....    once you get to know christopher,   -there is a character inconsistency.   and this is going to happen more often when you are making-someone-up; a fictional character, vs. a real person.    -unless, the real person has actual inconsistencies of character..

but

darn it.   have no way to communicate in clue form; i'd give it away..

LOVE THIS STORY and how it is written.       amen & amen.
