Moss Landing. day trip for us: (sexy! & ~tops!) #IWA #mosslanding @writeousmom

I would actually need to look through my photo albums to chronologically and completely remember all the day trips/vacation cities/places we've experienced together since we met..

it is the most dense experience..

ive never visited so many new places in such a concentrated amount of time; ever.

it is awesome!

capitola; coyote lake, san jose, las gatos,
san juan bautista, aromas, pescadero,
st Helene, Calistoga, Rutherford, napa
Arizona, moss landing, mexico, reno Nevada

but I LOVE something my sexy said,

want to share it here

he said,

"we go places to be there.   -not to say we were there."

do you understand that very large distinction?

a great example of that, was our recent trip to moss landing, where
after we enjoyed a spectacular lunch at the iconic phil's fish market
we strolled along the beach
we took some time to visit with each other and the ocean
we played and created with the washed up..   whatever all that is that washes up on the shore

and then we walked around the town itself
visiting with store owners, locals

there were a couple things that CH'd to my dad..

remember that fishing boat project/post divorce..  light-heart joking.. look where it ended up!

and the cartoon quote..  Sylvester & tweety bird

and in one beautiful case, we popped inside a building to learn
is this a church?

and we met, keith, who explained it was not a church,
but formerly, the building he was renovating on this day
-once owned by the chamber of commerce; previously leased out for weddings, meetings, etc.

and then keith, it turns out,  was not only open/friendly/social and kind, but way knowledgeable
about the entire history of moss landing
and shared too many stories, facts, and figures for me to possibly remember

but, Robert..  my sexy..
I am so impressed with the amount of information he can not only listen and respond to; but retain.

I am a great listener; it's true.   but retention.. being able to remember and repeat; not so much

anyway,

we had a lovely visit

and, you all know people, don't you

perhaps we are each guilty of it at one time or another:

not really going somewhere to be there;
but just so you could say you were there.

Robert and I don't do that; not at this age and time in our lives

we go places to be there

and be there
together.

amen.
