Happy Arbor Day, 2025 from (me!) sandra, topps, writeousmom
traditionally on arbor day, people are encouraged to 'plant' trees. i recognize that might be too ambitious and perhaps unrealistic for most people.
but, -notice one. notice a tree. regard a tree for a few seconds longer.. see if, among a group of trees, there is one that captures your attention..
smile at a tree; wink at a tree; hug a tree -take a picture with a tree like its a celebrity; share it on social media
learn it's name. get to know a tree a little better... google it.
the most recent trees to cause me to pause were the palms at the great mall in milpitas. -they seem to stand out because, it being spring.. we are surrounded (blessed!) by a variety of 'spring color' blooms
pinks, purples, whites, orange, peach, yellow..
while the palms at the great mall.. the most beautiful fall colors.. greens, dark greens, golds, bronze, browns
gorgeous. turns out they are called queen date palms..
our neighborhoods, our city is loaded with a variety of different types of palms.. i have i-spied my favorites, and will take pix as we re-visit the areas i know they are in..
hallelujah! amen!
