Delicious Meal, Slice of Cheesecake, Sip of Cognac -answered prayers of the highest kind
Glory be to God!
this picture is not worth a thousand words [only a thousand words, are worth a thousand words].
what you can see:
the mickanen brothers enjoying a beloved, fun, fine dining tradition:
a delicious meal, followed by cheesecake & cognac
what you can't see:
is that a year and a half ago, or so,
dave was in the hospital and suffered a stroke
he, at one point, had 'locked in syndrome' and was only communicating by blinking his eyes.
he, required, for sometime, to be tube fed
graduating to having all his food pureed; he could only safely swallow and digest food of a very specific texture; it could not be too thick; or too thin..
he has had to re-learn to walk..
and there is a much longer, detailed, itemized list of issues, circumstances, set-backs i'm not covering here,
but,
to see him here with his brother, enjoying their mickanen brother tradition:
cheesecake & cognac for dessert!
as an outside witness, -having not once heard him (or his wife) feel sorry for themselves; having not once heard them losing their momentum or faith to lethargy or doubt
to witness the God is Good attitude; to see them Keep the Faith throughout
what an inspiration!
and look at the results! -being able to travel.. being able to visit and enjoy family..
being able to fine dine, enjoy cheesecake, sip on cognac and "cheers!"
and be there in person to celebrate his nephew's wedding
all of it glorifies God's name
his beautiful, faithful wife and best friend and all she is doing; his beautiful daughter and son-in-law; and all they are doing.. each and every healthcare professional.. extended friends, family, neighbors
everyone who is motivated by love; inspired by life
it's all hallelujah & amen
