museum of the bible, washington d.c. -high recommend, from (robert! & sandra!)
just like anthropologie, it was not just the artifacts, the displays, the history, the merchandising, the art, the sculptures
it is the building itself -spacious, gracious, gorgeous!
and old books.. almost all old books, but especially the Bible,
speaks to my giize.. old paper, old books, old bricks, old trees; -magnetically call me
anything hand written.. -these hand written Bibles! which can take a year and a half to complete..
how can you not be wow'd!
and i agree, there is a life force infused in handwritten Bibles that does not exist in printed or digital versions, even though the words are exactly the same
***
and so, we traveled to washington d.c., maryland, virginia -not as a vacation or as tourists; rather, the destination wedding was the beautiful priority, and everything else was bonus
knowing we had a couple extra days, and my husband having already 'been there, done that.' -since it was my first and maybe only time being there, i was gifted the opportunity to choose what i most wanted to see/visit while we were there
from t.v. shows i've seen over the years, i had 3 goals
spy museum
museum of the Bible
planet word
-planet word is a natural want to when you are a writer/artist/poet; but it was closed when we were in the best position to go visit..
perhaps, one day, we will return.
i did also try, and submitted the emails/letters to visit the white house, but the day they confirmed, was the same day as the wedding and it could apparently not be corrected.
amen.
