KINDA HALLMARKY vs. "HALLMARKY!" By (me!) Sandra, tvgp

Today I will set out to find out.. -who said it.  It changed my entire perspective in under one second: from apologetic in nature to excited, proud and hopeful.  Let me explain:

I wrote a poem to give to any ricks picks customers who participated in our "Mothers Day Craft Party" yesterday and the day before..

My guess was that we would mostly have kids.. Making gifts for their mom, so I wanted to gear it accordingly..

This is what I wrote:

"It's in the way you look at me
it's in your voice when you speak to me

It's in the way you care for me
And every day you're there for me

It's in your kiss, It's in your hug
This blessing called
A Mother's Love

K..  Inspired by thinking of my.... Mommy

And I joked with her that I fully expected to see it hanging on her refrigerator..  I'm too old for that kind of thing..

But in truth..  When I was sharing it with my coworker friends.. Or any adults, I found myself using an apologetic tone..  Like, exactly because of that 'poet laureate' title..  Perhaps I should have come up with something a little more.. You know; profound and less rhyme~y...

So I kept saying in advance.. "I know its very hallmark~y"

But then someone... Was it Anne? Julia? I can't remember.  But someone said..  "Hey.. Dr Maya Angelou has a line of cards at hallmark doesn't she.."

And my heart did a complete Summersault

"That's Write!"...   My favorite poet, speaker, writer, humanitarian in the world!  /"Kissin' The Chocolate Blues!....

Under! By the way.. The name of my favorite art form: mosaics...

So then the rest of the day I was like.. "It's very hallmarky!". -with a proud smile on my face.

So

"Thank you!"

And! Turn out for the craft party was disappointing considering the amount of pavement pounding, press, flyer-passing/posting..

But! The people who did come.. Had a great experience..  And! Can't wait to figure out how to go about sharing the pictures..

Big extra thank you here to Anne..  Great! And obviously gifted at working with children...and Rick! The awesome buyer/owner for his willingness to add arts & crafts supplies!

And all my awesome coworker friends for their support

And everyone who came by.. And made a Mag Time Frame or HEMPF. (The only way I could remember when I was nervous on NBC:

Hanging
Embellished
Magnetic
Paper
Frame

"Happy Mothers Day!".   Love, sandra
