WINNER! Most Improved! Nutrition (me!) sandra, topps, writeousmom
i have apologized to my body.. "i feel so bad now, for how.. the junk food, the cigarettes, i didn't treat you terrible on purpose.. i was just so ignorant! unaware.. and unable to receive and apply the wisdom that did come my way.."
and i drink so much more water now.. water, lions share.. coffee, some soda, some alcohol..
and i used to eat just to shut my stomach up so i could keep doing whatever i was doing..
and when i met my husband, my locker had a loaf of bread and jar of peanut butter..
***
i have eaten better in the last 7+ years than ever in my life!
the results are what keep me going: better memory, better energy levels, better weight management, excellent health, strong immune system.. overall great feeling
but,
also, i just ENJOY food so much more.. mindful of the fresh flavors, textures, seasonings, temperatures..
and, because we have cell phones and easy access to do so,
what i do to help keep me on this good track: i keep myself hyped up..
so, for instance, this morning i had some -fresh mango (just learned this year how much i love mango!); and fresh cataloupe (have always loved);, some greek yogurt, with a little coconut/walnut crumbs..
a few walnuts; a few almonds; some pumpkin seeds [my 25, (or even 45) year old self would not even recognize the 59 year old me] 2 vitamins
so, i google search the nutritional value of [variable]...
read it.. [my body has accepted my apology]
and then, i deep dive further, to learn more about antioxidants, -what the given vitamin/minerals do for my body..
like, if mangiferin is listed..
and i do this easy, quick, research fairly often exactly because it keeps me conscious and in the habit of setting my body, myself, [body is container for spirit; its teamwork]
setting us up to succeed. i literally abused my body, nutritionally speaking, .. amazing my body's resilience, patience, mercy..
and close here with how much i just LOVE food! and drink.. and dessert..
and that 'balance'
and 'moderation' i had heard mentioned a million times over many years..
"i achieved it!"
it is my new and permanent lifestyle.
selah! hallelujah! and amen!
