the sound walls of my dreams (me!... and like 99% of san jose's population)

it would just make such a POWERFUL, WONDERFUL STATEMENT:   cleaning our sound walls!  cleaning our freeway signs, exit signs, bridges...

and so, we find out, city of san jose is not responsible; this job belongs to caltrans

caltrans of course, is pretty busy doing major construction jobs..

-so, it means the job just never gets done?  year after year...  as we watch the vandalism continue to grow is quantity, size, scope..

while we watch people gathering in front of home depots able and willing and wanting to find work..

we have too many people looking for anything from a side-job, some extra cash, to some full time employment..

and then robert mentioned about unions..  not taking away jobs from union workers..

   -ever an obstacle, isn't there..

the people of san jose deserve clean attractive sound walls.   we do not so much care about the who, what, where, when

certainly any one caught vandalizing our sound walls and signs should be made to clean it up (as i've mentioned..  and a public apology, and the dreaded essay...)

-just seems to us, the resources do actually exist:  the human resources.. (people willing) the financial resources..  (used for something good/visible/uplifting/helpful  vs. the waste we see...

we need some magical combination of people with power,  authority and determination.

****

oh! it does hit my heart directly, when we do start to identify   -not the drug dealers; addicts..   -not the thugs..   -not the freeloaders..      not the severely mentally ill..

that smaller % of people who are actually dealing with temporary financial hardship that lands them in the streets, or living in their cars..

hard; hard; hard.

and i still suggest a san jose certified matching service...

exactly because the cost of living vs. wages are what they are..

we have people who need extra income, and have rooms to rent..

but boy do you ever have to be conscientious and hyper-careful about who you rent to!

-where we have otherwise, healthy, willing-to-work and chip in people (families/children)

-and we have people with rooms to rent, but want to do so very selectively..

this makes so much more sense to me than the extreme expense of this expanding creation of a tiny class as a catch-all; which is already hemorrhaging

****

-what are the obstacles to hiring the people who gather outside home depot  -looking for and very willing to work!

and employing them to clean our sound walls.

... in prayer to the chain-breaker, pain-taker,   way maker!   xoxo   amen.
